I decided to change my call sign. For the last ten years or so I've sported the call W7DBZ. A vanity call I acquired after I moved to Las Vegas. I was moving from California and wanted a call from the 7th district. I've been back in California (district 6) for almost 7 years and it struck me my call should be more representative of the call district I live.
I've looked through the Vanity HQ website for a cool call but none of the available 1x3 call signs struck my fancy. So I opted to take a step back and applied to the commission to have my original call, KC6CLK, reissued to me.
This correctly reflects the district I live in and is my original novice call issued in the late 1980's.

2 meter air conditioner array
Or it's a 2 meter mag mount stuck on my air conditioner. You might laugh (as well you should) but it works just fine and the neighbors don't complain.

Chimney Antenna Farm
Living in a rental property as I do, and residing in a neighborhood with antenna restrictions, my ham radio antennas must be low profile and leave no holes.
I've always been a minimalist when it comes to my antennas. What ever works and doesn't fry my radio I'm good with. 20 years ago, when I lived in a small apartment, I had a ten meter whip on a mag mount on top of my refrigerator. I worked 10 meters around the world with 25 watts and my fridge antenna.
I carry on that tradition with a 900 Mhz Larsen strapped on to my chimney's spark arrester and a CB mag mount cut for 10 meters stuck on the other side.

RC Mayhem
For Christmas we bought our youngest grandson an RC car. It was the only thing he asked for. His dad, an old RC hand, picked out the car pictured to the left. There's an RC track near their house and I was invited to watch them put the car through its paces and take a few pictures.
I was lucky enough to capture this photo as the car raced around the dirt track.
This photograph (right) demonstrates the driving skills of my grandchildren. Not that their dad didn't have his wrecks. When I first arrived he was reparing the car after running it into a wall.
